Kerf probably isn't a term you've heard before unless you're a woodworker or already spent time with lasers. It certainly wasn't for us when we started out Glowforge journey! But understanding kerf - that's the material removed by the laser beam as it cuts - is mighty important for parts to fit together snugly.
