Your Glowforge is faster!
If you’re like us - you woke up to a calendar reminder to restart your Glowforge. That’s because the speed changes are now live for all Glowforge.
Once you reboot - you’ll get the complete update, including blazing top speeds.
A reminder, your top speed improvement kicks in if you adjust settings manually. It is most significant on wide engraves and you can check out this article for in-depth information on how to tune speeds and power. Learn how here: Working with Manual Mode
We also want to apologize. This rollout took place in two stages, and we didn’t communicate that. Specifically, we told you you need to reboot to get the higher speeds, but we didn’t make it clear that the faster acceleration occurs immediately. If you noticed your Glowforge was already faster, that’s why!
Engrave fixes are live, and we continue to investigate
Thanks to reports from Glowforge owners, we tracked down three different cases that could cause lines to appear when you engrave a vector design. Two of those are now fixed. The last one is rare and we’re working on the fix for it as well.
Please keep reporting any unexpected behavior so we can continue to make things better for you.
In the meantime, you can rasterize to make your engravings into bitmaps to avoid any chance of this problem.
