Supplies

Acrylic or wood for keychains
4” chains for keychains or 25 mm rings work also

Share Keychain Instructions with students
Share Keychain Example with students
Assign Keychain Template to students
Demonstrate to student how to start with the template and make it their own
Share examples that you have made
Allow students to create keychains
Students turn in using Google Classroom, making sure to convert to correct file format
Print from Google Drive or create a folder for each class

Tips

If using acrylic, select one color for everyone, or assign a color for each class
Cutting takes much less time than engraving, so I only allowed designs with cutting
The chains are available in large quantities on Amazon at a reasonable price

I teach this lesson to all fourth and fifth grade students in my Library Classes. We make keychains one year, and then luggage tags the next year
