Glowforge Education Giveaway Official Rules

1. How to enter:

a. Entry: To enter, submit a video or photos/story on why the entrant wants to win a Glowforge! The entry must showcase what educational challenges the entrant currently faces in the educational setting; why a Glowforge would benefit the entrant’s classroom, school, and/or district; and what excites the entrant the most about possibly winning a Glowforge. If the entry is a video: The video’s duration must be at least one (1) minute and no longer than three (3) minutes. If the entry is photos/story: The entry must include at least two (2) and no more than five (5) photos, and the accompanying story must be at least three (3) paragraphs in length (bullet points will not suffice). b. Method: Post your video or photos/story to the social media platform of your choice: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tiktok, or Twitter/X. Entry must include the hashtag #GlowforgeEDU. Once posted, submit the form [linked here] so your entry is recorded. c. Dates: The contest will run from September 12, 2023 to October 10, 2023. You must be at least 18 years old to enter and be an educator or work for an educational institution. Entries must be received by 11:59 PM Pacific Time October 10, 2023. Number of entries permitted: Only one entry per person is permitted

2. Sponsor:

Glowforge Inc. (hereafter, “Glowforge”) with offices at 1938 Occidental Ave S, Suite C, Seattle, WA 98134.

3. Prize:

a. One (1) winner will be selected to receive a Glowforge Pro Laser Printer and an Essential Bundle (the “Prize”). The odds of winning the Prize depend on the number of entries received. b. Winner is responsible for any and all related taxes and other expenses related to claiming the Prize. Taxes (federal, state and local, and any foreign) and other obligations are solely the responsibility of the winner. c. Winner is required to comply with any and all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations related to this contest, including relating to the acceptance of and disposition of any Prize. d. No substitution of the Prize is offered, no transfer of the Prize to a third party is permitted, and the Prize may not be redeemed for cash value (unless at the sole discretion of Glowforge).

4. Winner Selection:

Winner will be selected by a committee of Glowforge Sales team employees based on submission substance (50%), originality (25%), and creativity (25%). The committee will review the entries within four weeks following the end of the contest.

5. Eligibility:

The contest is open to all residents of the United States. Employees of Glowforge, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers, and immediate family members, to include parents, siblings, spouses, and siblings, and/or those living in the same household of employees are not eligible to participate.

6. Winner Notification:

Winner will be notified via the email provided in their entry form following the judging committee’s review period. Winner will have three business days after being notified by Glowforge to provide documentation of compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. If the winner does not timely do so, the winner will be disqualified and their Prize forfeited, and an alternative winner may be selected and notified.

7. Other Terms:

a. If an entry involves a photograph or other media (collectively, the “Media”), the Media should only contain images and likenesses for which the entrant has legal and valid right, permissions, and license, which must include the right, permission, and license to submit to this contest. b. If the Media features the image, name, likeness, or other indicia identifying any person other than yourself, you must have the consent to submit that Media to this contest at the time of entry. c. In lieu of a monetary fee to enter the contest, submitting an entry constitutes irrevocable permission for Glowforge to use the entrant’s name, likeness, entry, and derivatives of entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. d. By submitting an entry, you consent to receiving marketing calls, emails, and other content from Glowforge Inc.

8. Release and General Conditions:

a. This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. b. All entrants, as a condition of entry, agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judging committee. c. The entry information provided is subject to the Privacy Policy on the Glowforge Inc. website. d. By participating, entrants agree (a) to these official rules and the decisions of Glowforge Inc., which shall be final and binding in all respects; and (b) that Glowforge Inc., any promotional partners, their parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents are released and will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by entrants against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to person(s), including death and personal injury, property, intellectual property, or rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of a prize or participation in the contest; (c) winner acknowledges that no representation or warranty, written or oral, express or implied, in law or in fact is made for any prize except only that which may be made for that prize in the limited warranty, if any, provided with that prize by the manufacturer of that prize. e. Glowforge shall have no liability for the winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk electronic notifications, or other security settings or for the winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. f. Glowforge reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the contest if any problem — regardless of whether or not the problem is in the control of Glowforge — prevents the contest from running as planned.

9. Dispute Resolution/Choice of Law:

a. Except where prohibited by law, entrants agree that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the contest shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (b) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (c) under no circumstances will entrants be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental, and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these official rules, or the rights and obligations of entrants and or Glowforge Inc. in connection with the contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard for the conflicts of law doctrine of that State or any other jurisdiction, and all proceedings shall take place in King County, State of Washington.
