Instructions

Save everything! If you ever need to ship your Glowforge for service, you’ll need all the original parts: boxes, handle locks, foam, and important orange and red bits. Store them safely; replacement packing materials will be at cost.

Unbox your Glowforge

1

Remove the protective foam on top of your Glowforge, lift it out of the box, and place it on a hard, stable surface. Airflow from underneath the machine is critical when in use.

2

In the bottom of the box where your printer was, find the cardboard sleeve and remove the metal cutting tray inside. Set aside for now.

3

Open the printer’s lid. Inside the front cardboard insert you’ll find your vent hose and power cable. Set them aside, and remove the cardboard insert.

Install the printer head

4

Carefully remove the printer head from the foam block with one hand. Take care not to pull or twist the silver ribbon cable.

5

With your other hand, lift out the second cardboard insert and set it aside - there’s no need to remove the foam block

6

With the Glowforge logo facing up, place the laser head on the square magnetic dock until you feel the magnets click into place.

7

Remove the two foam blocks at either end of the laser arm. The laser arm should now move freely.

8

Place your hands on the black end caps on either side of the rails (as shown).

9

Align the laser arm by gently pulling both end caps towards you at the same time. Keep going until the arm reaches the front of the printer, then push them both to the back.

Install the Cutting Tray

10

Place the cutting tray into the printer so that the tray tabs are on the left and right sides.
