Here’s what you’ll be doing

You will be working with the Marketing, Sales, and Creative teams to handcraft and deliver the emails that bring people to Glowforge ownership. Once the box is opened, you’ll continue to help them unlock their creativity and unleash it upon the world. You’ll be there from their first engagements to purchasing, onboarding, and then loving their Glowforge. We want your brilliant writing to hold our customers by the hand, presenting them with the right ideas, images, and videos to educate and inspire them.

You’ll be: Owning and accelerating our email marketing program end-to-end - causing a massive increase in engagement with those who are considering Glowforge! Writing persuasive, delightful, and effective emails to get our customers excited about owning their own Glowforge. Creating email audiences based on dynamic and ever-changing properties, including time-in-funnel/stage in the lifecycle, interaction with Inside Sales, activity on-site, and more. Crafting marketing emails that speak to both a broad audience and advising the Sales team on writing for that personal touch. Working with Creative & Content teams to iterate and test new copy, visuals, timing, and more.

  • You know how email can build relationships with others. Whether written for one or many, the recipient feels as though the piece was specifically crafted for them.
  • You get them excited about not only having a Glowforge but being a part of our growing community.
  • You measure your success by numbers.
  • You write prolifically and thoughtfully, and people love reading what you write.
  • You love collaborating with at team of creative people to get wonderful work out into the world.
  • You noticed the typo in the previous sentence. You always notice the typos.

In addition:

  • You’re passionate about consumer marketing.
  • When you write something, people want to read it and are persuaded by what you wrote.
  • You put together experimental designs, dig into the data, and iterate fast.
  • You liked statistics in college and pepper terms like confidence interval and p-value in your everyday conversation.
  • You have proven experience finding creative solutions to continue to improve email impact even with large-scale platform challenges.

It would be nice if...

  • You have worked at a startup or fast-growing technology company. Even better if it’s a consumer tech hardware company with a software and services business model.
  • You have experience in a multi-channel environment involving D2C, B2B, and retail
  • You’ve helped teams sell high-value products with a lengthy sales cycle
  • You love making things - knitting, sewing, woodworking, leather smithing, 3D printing, furniture building, it doesn’t matter what.
