My first inlay

A sign for the wall (or door or something) of my baby niece. (Who we can’t go visit right now…)

Made with :proofgrade: maple plywood and walnut veneer. Standard SD engrave settings on the plywood for where the inlay goes, plus a score around the outline, which makes a pretty close fit for the veneer to fit in without precise kerf adjusting.

There’s a tiny bit of extra space around the inlay, and it’s not quite flush (veneer is recessed a bit). But trying to get those thin little sticky letters in without breaking them is hard enough without it being a tight fit, and her parents love it anyway, so I’ll call it a win.
