A sign for the wall (or door or something) of my baby niece. (Who we can’t go visit right now…)
Made with maple plywood and walnut veneer. Standard SD engrave settings on the plywood for where the inlay goes, plus a score around the outline, which makes a pretty close fit for the veneer to fit in without precise kerf adjusting.
There’s a tiny bit of extra space around the inlay, and it’s not quite flush (veneer is recessed a bit). But trying to get those thin little sticky letters in without breaking them is hard enough without it being a tight fit, and her parents love it anyway, so I’ll call it a win.
